I am pleased to announce two changes to the RSCD. The first change is how we will deal with cadets and the second change is the new RSCD Merit System.

CHANGES TO HOW THE RSCD WILL BE DEALING WITH CADETS
Once placed in an RSCD Squadron the new member has Three weeks to earn 15 points. The point system is discussed below with the new merit system
When they earn the 15 points the member will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG).
If they do not earn the points within the three weeks they will be marked AWOL and will have one week to both send and E-Mail to their Squadron CO and earn the missing points.
After they earn the 15 points they have one month to earn an additional 15 points (making a total of 30 points).
If the member does not receive the points within the month they will be marked AWOL and will have 1 week to both E-mail their Squadron CO and earn the remaining points.

The clock starts for all Cadets and Lieutenant JGs as of this coming Monday, February 16; however you have the opportunity to start earning points this week at the WoW, Weekly RSCD Melee and ICTE

THE NEW AND IMPROVED RSCD MERIT SYSTEM
The command staff of the RSCD feels recognition of active members is very important. Merit Systems have been a part of the RS practically since it\'s conception. However it has always been under used here in the RSCD. Well now that is going to change. Every Week one of the Fleet Command Staff will send out an NL listing points earned by members and reasons for earning them and any badges earned.

There is a total of 19 different badges that can be earned in the merit system and they are as follows(with the total number of points to be earned to achieve it):

{-RSCD-CADET-} 1 Point
{-RSCD-LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE -} 15 Points -Must be earned by new members with in 3 weeks. The clock starts the first Monday after they are placed into a squadron
{-RSCD-SECOND LIEUTENANT-} 30 Points-Must be earned by new members within one month after the member earns their first 15 points
{-RSCD-FIRST LIEUTENANT-} 50 Points
{-RSCD-CAPTAIN-} 75 Points
{-RSCD-COMMANDO-} 105 Points
{-RSCD-VETERAN COMMANDO-} 140 Points
{-RSCD-ELITE COMMANDO 180 Points
{-RSCD-TEAM LEADER-} 225 Points
{-RSCD-SQUAD LEADER-} 275 Points
{-RSCD-PLATOON LEADER-} 330 Points
{-RSCD-COMPANY LEADER-} 390 Points
{-RSCD-BATTALION LEADER-} 455 Points
{-RSCD-REGIMENT-LEADER-} 525 Points
{-RSCD-JEDI HOPEFUL-} 600 Points
{-RSCD-PADAWAN LEARNER-} 690 Points
{-RSCD-JEDI KNIGHT-} 765 Points
{-RSCD-JEDI MASTER-} 855 Points
{-RSCD-JEDI HIGH COUNCIL MEMBER-} 950 Points

In addition, if you notice the first five badges represent the Level 1 Ranks. When you earn one of those badges (and presuming the appropriate time has passed) a member will be promoted to the corresponding rank.

Now I am sure you are asking yourself, \"HOW DO I EARN POINTS SO I CAN GET MY COOL BADGE.\" Well here is how you can earn points:

+5 Points for introducing yourself to your entire squadrons and Wing Command Staff - NEW MEMBERS ONLY

+5 point for first post in the RSCD message boards located at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/board.php?id=3
To make this even easier I have made a thread called \"Introduce yourself to the RSCD\". It is a sticky post so it will always be right at the top. (Be advised any posts before now do not count)

-+5 Points for first match in each Weekly RSCD Melee

+1 point for every other match in Weekly RSCD Melee played against a different person
(for example: If Aidyn and me have played a match at this Friday\'s Melee, then play each other again we would still only get the one point even though we played two matches against each other. Another Example is if Me and Aidyn play a match, and Dav and Zeke play a match, then I play Zeke, and Aidyn plays Dav we would each get two points, one for each match)

+5 Points for first match played in weekly ICTE
You must report your match on the RS ICTE page located at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/icte/

+1 Point for every other match played in the weekly ICTE
You must report your match on the RS ICTE page located at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/icte/

+3 Points for First WoW Match played each individual WoW
This is for each specific WoW. So for example if you participate in both the February JO and JA WoWs you would get 3 points for each

+1 point for every other match up to match 9, them starting again from match 11 till infinity for each individual WoW

+5 Points for playing your tenth WoW match at each individual WoW

+1 Point from Squadron CO with approval of Wing CO
We understand that members will sometimes do things and performs tasks in there squadrons that deserve recognition. So each squadron CO may give no more than one merit point a week to members of there squadron with the approval of their Wing CO.

+1 from Wing CO with approval of Fleet XO or CO
We understand that members will sometimes do things and performs tasks in there wings that deserve recognition. So each wing CO may give no more than two merit point a week to members of there wing with the approval of either the RSCD XO or CO.

+ 1 from Fleet Command Staff
We understand that members will sometimes do things and performs tasks in the RSCD that deserve recognition. So any member of the Fleet Command staff (CO,XO, and SO) may give up to no more than five merit points a week to members of the RSCD.

There will be other ways to earn points in the near future and will be announced as they become available

If you have any questions or comments on either of these changes to the RSCD please feel free to contact both myself or Aidyn, or even better, say something in the RSCD message boards.
